Coping with Grief workshop

A workshop for adults that looks at how individuals and groups, particularly children and youth experience grief differently and how to provide support for others and take care of yourself.

Empowering Parents Sessions

May 2018

Learn what it means to be an advocate for your child!  Simple strategies to help you help your child in any environment.  The Eastern Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq Mental Wellness Team has upcoming sessions in Membertou and Eskasoni:

-Update:  Membertou session (May 9) is postponed.  A new date will be announced soon!

-Thursday, May 24, in Eskasoni, from 6:30 – 7:30 pm at Nepisi Building (Mi’kmaw Lodge)

Options to Anger workshop

Tuesdays in May and June

A four (4) session program for youth ages 12-18 that distinguishes between anger and aggression, teaches your child how to recognize their early warning signs, and how to interrupt the anger cycle by making the choice not to respond to triggers.

Empathy Program

May 15, 22, and 29, 2018

A three (3) session program for children ages 8-to-12 that addresses topics related to empathy, such as bullying, discrimination, and stereotypes.

The Union of Nova Scotia Indians is hosting a Wills & Estates Planning Information Sessions with Mi’kmaw lawyers.

Eskasoni with Cheryl Knockwood:  Wednesday, May 9, at the Sarah Denny Cultural Centre, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

-Membertou with Tuma Young:  Wednesday, May 23, at the Wallace Bernard Memorial Seniors’ Centre, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
